BTL Unveils 2011 Directory Cover
|
It's that time of year for the exciting unveiling of BTL's 2011 Telephone Directory Cover! This years' cover features the well known ambassador for jaguar preservation and conservation in Belize and resident of The Belize Zoo. Junior Buddy, the four year old jaguar prominently graces the cover of this year's Telephone Directory Cover in which he demonstrates his playful character and attractive stature. Born and raised at The Belize Zoo, Junior Buddy has become the main attraction to visitors of all ages while educating them on the importance of Belize's Jaguar Corridor and the growing need to preserve this wild-cat specie for future generations.
As the "Jaguar Ambassador" of Belize, Junior Buddy is a remarkable example of the magnificence of his species. A visit with him affords visitors a personal encounter where he reveals the beauty of the jaguar and their special qualities of survival. It is impossible not to be impressed by the remarkable intellectual abilities of Junior Buddy. Of the four species of large cats, the lion, tiger, jaguar and leopard, it is the jaguar which has the largest brain-to-body size. Junior Buddy's playful tendencies and education routines underscore this natural history fact—Junior Buddy has an important education role. He links children and all visitors to the imperative need that we as a people must work to conserve the remaining territory of the jaguar. Bringing visitors close to Junior Buddy creates a bond of compassion which naturally extends into a feeling of pride; pride in that our country cares about the jaguar and that our citizens will work to see that they thrive into the future.
In addition to the unveiling of the 2011 Telephone Directory Cover, copies of the new publication will be available from all BTL offices countrywide effective, today April 1, 2011. BTL customers are encouraged to pick up their copies of the Directory which features revised Government Pages, adding a more user friendly layout. This year's "All about Belize Pages" provides readers with highlights and insight into some of our country's little known attractions which are worth exploring with family and friends!
