BTL Donates $10,000 to Rotary Club of Belize Conference

BTL as a responsible corporate citizen was pleased to present a cheque for $10,000.00 to the Rotary Club of Belize. This contribution was geared at assisting the nine Rotary Clubs which make up District 4250 in hosting their Fifteenth Conference of District scheduled for February 24th to 27th, 2010 in Belize City. The Conference is a forward thinking strategic session which will articulate the philanthropy Roadmap for Rotary and its clubs in the region.
The cheque was handed over to Dr. Marcelo Coye, Governor of District 4250 by Telemedia's General Manager, Business Development and Marketing, Mrs. Dionne Miranda. Mrs. Miranda applauded the work of the Rotary Club's involvement in Belize while citing that Corporate Social Responsibility and the Rotary Four Way Test should be applied by all companies in the Belizean environment if we truly want to see the change required in the socio economic environment. BTL's donation is testament to the need to be a good citizen and give back to the community which we exist in and depend on.
Dr. Coye explained that these much needed funds will assist the Rotary Clubs in improving the level of care given by their organization to the many less fortunate people in our society.
District 4250 consists of the Rotary Clubs of Belize, Guatemala and Honduras. Approximately 250 Rotarians from these areas will join Belize's 150 Rotarians at this Conference. Belize holds the District Governorship for the Rotary Year 2009 - 2010 which is significant to Belize.
