BTL and Belize Healthcare Partners Ltd. unveil Dialysis and Home Health Unit in Belize

Belize City, Belize, May 20th, 2009 – BTL and Belize Healthcare Partners Limited will on Thursday, May 21st, 2009 hold official ceremonies to unveil the new BTL Dialysis and Home Health Unit, the first in the country of Belize.
The BTL Dialysis and Home Health Unit will act as a mobile outpatient clinic which will provide haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis care for those patients who would otherwise not be able to receive treatment. Operated by trained medical personnel, the mobile health unit will provide care for patients hospitalized in other medical institutions which do not provide this type of service. It will also be used to train patients to perform dialysis at home, facilitate check-ups as well as deliver much needed medical supplies.
The Dialysis and Home Health Unit will provide quality health care services to those patients who would otherwise have to spend many hours traveling to get their much needed treatment.
The mobile unit was donated by BTL after which Belize Healthcare Partners transformed the vehicle into a mobile treatment centre for dialysis patients. The van is equipped with a dialysis station and will be operated by trained medical personnel.
According to Mr. Keith Neal, Manager, Clinical Services at Belize Healthcare Partners Limited, "Belize Healthcare Partners Limited gratefully acknowledges the gift of The BTL Dialysis and Home Health Unit donated by Belize BTL Limited. Manned by trained Medical Professionals, Belize Healthcare will maximize the use of this unit by having mobile clinics aimed at providing quality healthcare to the less fortunate in our more rural areas and will seek to educate and equip patients who can be placed on peritoneal dialysis as a necessary alternative to Hemodialysis. Belize Healthcare Partners and BTL are proud to present to Belize and Belizeans our first ever Mobile Dialysis Unit. "
BTL is pleased to donate this mobile unit, which will be maintained and operated by Belize Health Care Partners, to provide treatment to dialysis patients in our country. The BTL Dialysis and Home Health Unit is truly an example of putting the technology of today to work, to bring unique methods of care delivery to patients in our community. |
