Residents in Six Rural Areas to benefit from High Speed Internet Access & Modern Telecommunication Services

Telemedia is pleased to announce that the Company will be replacing the telephone equipment in six rural communities with new state of the art telecommunication switches that will provide customers in these areas with modern, customer friendly features, access to prepaid services, High Speed Internet and much more. This is in keeping with the Company’s commitment to provide a more uniformed Telecommunications network across the country, ensuring that the same quality, reliable telecommunication services are available throughout the entire country of Belize.
This project was initiated in November 2007 with residents of August Pine Ridge benefitting from the first installation. In this phase, residents of Caye Caulker, Progresso, San Narciso, Patchakan, Guinea Grass and San Pablo will benefit and now enjoy modern telecommunication services and user-friendly features such as Caller ID, Voicemail, Call Waiting and Three Way Calling.
Residential and Business Customers in these areas will be able to sign up for High Speed Internet access and schools in the areas will be able to sign up for FREE Internet Service through Telemedia’s Internet to Schools Program. Additionally, with the introduction of prepaid services, residents in these areas will be able to use short codes to access menu options and enjoy the convenience of recharging their accounts using Telemedia’s Fone TopUp which is available at prepaid agents countrywide.
The installation of the telecommunications equipment in the six areas will be completed as specified below:
Caye Caulker - 25th April
Progresso - 30th April
San Narciso - 28th April
Patchakan - 28th April
Guinea Grass - 29th April
San Pablo - 29th April
As a launch special, starting Monday, May 5th to Friday, May 9th, 2008, Telemedia will offer the following promotion for Residential customers in all the above mentioned areas:
•FREE HomeFone Service telephone installation + FREE $50 PrePaid card
•50% off High Speed Internet installation and FREE modem. A Deposit of $150 is required and a 1 year contract.
Customers are encouraged to take advantage of these great deals. Simply visit the nearest Telemedia Customer Service Center and bring along:
•A valid ID, i.e. current passport, Social Security card or driver’s license
•A utility bill
•Your personal or business identification
Note:
•A deposit MAY be required which is determined at the time of application
•A non-Belizean resident must provide evidence of intended Belizean residence for the next 12 months
