Residents of Seven Rural Communities to benefit from modern Telecommunication features and High Speed Internet Access

Belize City, Wednesday, November 28th, 2007 – Belize Telemedia Limited today announced that the Company is replacing the telephone equipment in seven rural areas, with new state-of-the-art telecommunication switches that will provide modern, customer friendly features, access to prepaid services, High Speed Internet and many more functionalities, same as those that exist in the other areas of the Country.
With these replacement switches, Telemedia now boasts a more uniformed Telecommunications Network across the Country as customers in the rural areas of August Pine Ridge, Guinea Grass, Patchakan, San Pablo, San Narciso, Progresso and Caye Caulker will soon enjoy the same features and functionalities as all other Telemedia customers throughout the country.
On Monday, December 3rd, 2007, residents of August Pine Ridge will be the first of these seven to benefit as the installation in that area will be completed. Within the next three months the installations in the other six areas will be completed, bringing the company to the end of its project to standardize its countrywide telecommunications network.
Customers in August Pine Ridge will now enjoy user-friendly features such as Caller ID, Voicemail, Call Waiting and Three Way Calling. Residential and Business Customers can now sign up for High Speed Internet access and schools in the area will be able to apply to be a part of the Company’s Internet to Schools program, which offers free Internet to Primary, Secondary and Tertiary level institutions.
Finally, with access to prepaid services now available, the residents of August Pine Ridge can now join other prepaid customers throughout the country who are able to use short codes to access menu options and enjoy the convenience of recharging their accounts using Telemedia’s Fone TopUp that is now available at prepaid agents countrywide.
Telemedia is pleased that it has reached a milestone as customers throughout the country will now enjoy the same telecommunication services and user friendly features, regardless of where they are. |
